PRESENTAZIONE OPERA
SOVRINCISO
I have always been short-sighted but when I was a child, I didn’t know it. I used to stare at the gravel of my parents’ backyard as a grey blurred sea and, just by touching it, I was able to recognise the heaps of little stones.I didn’t really give importance to the uncertainty and to the imprecise shading of the material. The phenomenic reality around me was meaningful. Then, when I wore the glasses, things became autonomous and defined. In a way, I lost control on the definition of the objects. The subjectivity of my reality was substituted by the objectivity of the world. This is the image I use to build the piece. Sovrinciso is the subjective representation of a reality. It is the description of a single musical figure and the thousand variations conferring it an always diverse and changeable appearance. I started writing this piece as an investigation over the form that changes according to the prospective of sight. However, while writing it I dragged this idea to its limits. I tried not only to manipulate the form of the object, but I focused on its core, its inner part; so I have filled the figure with inexperienced and personal images, leaving the outlines recognizable and clear.
