Competition Announcement
The competition
Through the
award, with the contribution of the Cariplo Foundation, the Cultural
Foundation San Fedele intends to promote an artistic production of new
musical works of quality, in a unique three-year course, to enable the
young participants to mature an experience in composing which will lead
to the writing of a piece once a year and each time more complex: from a
short solo-instrumental piece (first year) to a little chamber group piece (second
year) to end with a concertino for single instrument and ensemble (third
year). The final event consists in the
realisation of a concert with an important instrumental ensemble and soloists, to play the pieces of the finalists and the recording
on CD. Of the finalists, the winner (the candidate with the highest score) will receive a
statue in fused bronze (30 x 12 cm) made from the mould donated by
Lucio Fontana, appositely created for the San Fedele competition in
1951.
The final score will include regular attendance and active participation in meetings of the three-year award.
Furthermore, the organisation of the Award will be committed to
promote the final concert on radio, festivals and national and
international musical associations.
